Course selection forms for the 2024-25 school year have gone home and are due to the office by March 8.

Sea Cadet Program is taking new registrations now ages 12-18. Learn useful life skills and earn high school credits.  Join for free.

Youth Health Clinic is every Thursday night 5:30-7:30 @ Shoreline Medical Clinic.

Parkland Basketball Skills Development Sessions: 

Want to improve your basketball skills and have fun?  Sessions are starting and will continue through the spring.  All are welcome!  

The sessions will feature: 

  • Individual Skills - Ball Handling, Passing, Shooting, Rebounding, Defense  
  • Team Concepts - Spacing, Ball and Player Movement, Offenses/Sets, Defenses, Transition, Clock management
  • Scrimmages - Competitive games with evenly matched teams
  • Frequent Special Guest Coaches 

Schedule: 

  • Boys - Grade 9 and Grade 8 from North Saanich.  Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:30
  • Boys - Grade 10 and 11  (TBA - Watch for news!)  
  • Girls - (TBA - Watch for news!)

RBC Training Ground will be returning to Victoria March 2 and would like to invite students to attend this incredible opportunity for them to show what they're capable of! For all the information please see is below: 

  • What is RBC Training Ground: RBC Training Ground is a talent identification and athlete funding program designed to uncover athletes with Olympic potential and provide them with the high-performance sport resources they need to achieve their podium dreams.
  • Event Cost: This event is FREE of charge to register and a great way for student athletes to interact with National Sport Organizations such as Rowing Canada, Rugby Canada and Volleyball Canada
  • Where: University of Victoria CARSA (Centre for Athletics, Recreation and Special Abilities) Address: Gabriola Rd, Saanich, BC V8P 5C2
  • When: Saturday March 2nd. Testing waves still available include: 2:30pm, 3:00pm and 3:30pm"
  • How Long: Testing will take between 45mins to an hour.
  • What athletes will be tested on: Speed, Strength, Endurance, Power.  
  • How to Register: Students interested in participating in the event can register through the RBC Training Ground.

CAREER CENTRE

Career or Educational Information:

*** DND will be visiting at lunch today to chat about their summer program! The Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) is available to high school students in grades 11 & 12 who have an interest in working in unique trades to support repair work to the naval fleet.  These civilian positions allow students to become familiar with the work related to the various trade disciplines supporting ship repair work on the west coast and provide 8 weeks of paid work experience supporting the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). Visit the Career Centre at lunch on Monday for more info and to receive an application!

 

Learning to Lead! is a program that provides self-identified girls in Grades 10-12 the opportunity to increase their confidence and explore their leadership potential while creating a network that supports them along their educational and career journeys. For more info and to apply. The deadline for registration is March 29th.

Volunteers are needed for a gymnastics competition,  you can assist with athlete registration, checking in volunteers, and/or being access monitors.  Each volunteer gets free admission to the competition for the entire day that they volunteer.  If you would like to get your volunteer hours in helping people your own age, please sign up for Saturday, March 2nd  or Sunday, March 3rd.
