February is Black History Month. It is an important time to recognize and highlight Black experiences and achievements in Canada. As Black history is not limited to February, neither should honouring and learning about Black history. Here are the proposed dates of the 2023/2024 Saanich/Lyon Student Exchange (Mobility Path Program): October 7th to November 4th, 2023: Lyon students travel to Saanich March 16th to April 13th, 2024. RebalanceMD is hosting their 8th Annual (!) Young Artists Competition. The past years have been a great success and a lot of fun. Not to mention, a fantastic chance for your students to showcase their talents in the community. Submissions need to be in by May 10.

Our Sr Girls basketball team played their final games this past weekend and although they played great games, came up short, so their season has finished. If you see any of the girls this week, thank them for representing Parkland so well all season, they all played with great skill, sportsmanship and heart. We are very proud of this particular group of talented female athletes and will miss them tremendously, as half the team is graduating this year. Great job girls!
