Cookies anyone? 🍪 Parkland Secondary Rowing and Volleyball Teams are joining forces and  bringing our local school and community the tastiest fundraiser ever, Tasty Batters/Moms Pantry Cookie dough, Cinnamon Buns and Perogies! All proceeds will go towards these two amazing sports that Parkland provides for our students. Funds will be used to help offset fees, uniforms, tournament expenses, equipment..etc.

Studio 63 is holding a Canned Food Drive October-December 1 supporting the local Food Bank and while you are there get a new hair cut at the same time.

International Program Actively Looking for Host Families- Do you have a spare room? Are you interested in welcoming an international Parkland student to your home for a while? The International Program is looking for new host families to join us for the remainder of the first semester as well as for the second semester! In addition to an enriching and fun experience with your student, we offer continuous support and a $975 monthly reimbursement.

October is ADHD awareness month. Did you know that children with ADHD develop brain functions such as attention control 30% later than children without ADHD? Or that children with ADHD have less of the neurotransmitter dopamine occurring naturally? This 20 minute video from Kelty mental health clears up some myths about ADHD and gives a helpful overview of the complexity of ADHD. Attention all students.  If you are wanting to play intramural Volleyball at lunch, please come to the PE office to get a sign-up sheet to enter your team.

This Saturday, Nov 5th is the Cross-Country Provincial Championship at Royal Roads University. Parkland has three runners who qualified! Two- time Island Champion and defending Provincial Champion, Ruby Broadbent, will be representing Parkland in the Senior Girls Race along with Nele Bruehne at 11:30AM. Hector Verea Lopez is running the Senior Boys Race at 12:15PM. It would be fabulous to have a huge Parkland community cheering section there, so please attend if you can!
