Halloween events:
- Online Pumpkin Carving Contest: Submissions are accepted until Oct 30. Photos of entries need to emailed to Ms. Frith, sfrith@saanichschools.ca by Monday Oct 30. Prize: $10 cafeteria munch card.
- Halloween Costume Contest: Tuesday Oct 31 at lunch in the theatre. Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes.
- Claremont’s ScreamFest Halloween Event is Oct 24-26, 6-9, tickets are available at the front office, $10 each.
Our PAC needs your help. The PAC would like to continue to run the breakfast club 7:45-8:25am, selling muffins and juice boxes to our students. They need parent volunteers to sign up. Thank you for supporting our students!
Graduation diplomas for last year’s grads have arrived and can be picked up at the front office.
Youth Health Clinic is every Thursday night 5:30-7:30 @ Shoreline Medical Clinic.

*** Huge congratulations to the Parkland swim team for their fabulous performance at the Island School Swim Meet yesterday. Shout-out to Liam, Chin, Mason, and Jacob for qualifying to go to Provincials in November! And we just heard that our other relay team qualified as well (there were issues with the touch pads so the results weren't accurate), so congrats to Jemma, Judith, Emily, and Lea for qualifying to go to Provincials as well 🙂
*** Congratulations to our Rowing teams for placing in their speed categories at the October Sprints on the weekend:
Lionel, Cohen, Pietro and Chin placed 2nd in the novice quad.
Rosie, Bree, Lena and Emma placed 3rd in the novice quad.

Last week a group of Parkland students attended Camosun College to learn about the Early Learning and Care program. They heard from current students, instructors, about career pathways and dual credit programs; free courses that allow you to 'try before you buy!' Check it out:
The Navy came for a visit and provided students with lots of info and even put some classes through fitness testing! It was lots of fun and we're already looking forward to doing it again.
Community Family and Child Studies - There are two fabulous Camosun courses being offered for FREE in Semester 2 online and Friday afternoon. Are you interested in Community, Family and Child Studies, then this is for you!! We not only pay the tuition but can help with other expenses as well as part of a government grant!
VOLUNTEERING:

Grad photos are coming up, November 1-7, by appt only, book now. Province: BC // City: North Saanich.
Grad Bottle Drive is happening from 10am-2pm Saturday November 4th! We need people to sign up for shifts going around picking up bottles and dropping them off in the student school parking lot. We also need a couple of people greeting and helping unload in the parking lot. Grad Parents encouraged to join!
