RebalanceMD is hosting their 8th Annual Young Artists Competition.  The past years have been a great success and a lot of fun. Not to mention, a fantastic chance for students to showcase their talents in the community. Submissions need to be in by May 10.

*** Congratulations to Scott and Melia for participating in the Sr All-Star Basketball games on Saturday. Scott made some impressive dunks and added 10 points to his winning team. Melia was a playmaker on the court helping her team to an impressive win over the north. It was an energetic night of basketball and a great way to end the basketball season. Way to go Panthers!

Panorama Rec Center has a couple summer employment opportunities that may be of interest, particularly if you are interested in tennis or other sports. They are currently recruiting and working to hire their summer team to lead and assist day camps. This summer, they have six weeks of half-day tennis camps planned, along with seven weeks of full-day multi-sport camps.  More details of each employment opportunity can be viewed via these links:

     And here are a few general details of what each program will entail:

  • Tennis Camp (8:30am-12pm M-F +prep/take down time)(7-10 year olds): Join Panorama coaches and camp leaders for a fun week of tennis and more! Aimed at racquet sport beginners, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of tennis, following the progressive tennis model that uses modified courts and balls, scaled to maximize learning and fun! Each day will include time on-court, plus a sprinkle of general camp activities such as cooperative group games, crafts and outdoor play.
    • Jul 10-14 – Centennial Park, Central Saanich
    • Jul 17-21 – Centennial Park, Central Saanich
    • Jul 24-28 – Centennial Park, Central Saanich
    • Jul 31-Aug 4 – Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich
    • Aug 14-18 – Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich
    • Aug 21-25 – Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich 
  • Multi-Sport Camp (9am-4pm M-F +prep/take down time)(7-12 year olds): Throughout the week, campers will participate in a wide range of sports and activities which may include, but is not limited to, tennis, basketball, track and field, skating and swimming. Campers will follow a new activity schedule each week to allow those who attend multiple weeks the opportunity to participate in different activities and sports. Each week, campers will partake in excursions.
    • Weekly, Monday-Friday, Jul 4-Aug 18 (excl. stat holidays) – Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich
