February is Black History Month. It is an important time to recognize and highlight Black experiences and achievements in Canada. As Black history is not limited to February, neither should honouring and learning about Black history. Checkout the bulletin board outside the learning commons and follow @parklandbipocclub on Instagram to stay informed during Black History Month.

Bonjour! Are you a French student at Parkland interested in spending the day at UVIC for a day of French workshops and a cultural performance? The Forum Local de Français pour l'avenir takes place Friday April 28, 9 - 3 PM @ UVIC.  See Mme Hassett to sign up.

Here are the proposed dates of the 2023/2024 Saanich/Lyon Student Exchange (Mobility Path Program): October 7th to November 4th, 2023: Lyon students travel to Saanich March 16th to April 13th, 2024.There is a parent information evening on February 22nd at 7pm at Bayside Middle School. RebalanceMD is hosting their 8th Annual (!) Young Artists Competition.  The past years have been a great success and a lot of fun. Not to mention, a fantastic chance for your students to showcase their talents in the community. Submissions need to be in by May 10.

Congratulations to the Sr Girls basketball team for placing second in their pool in the tournament this past weekend. There were some very physical games and the girls played hard and pulled through as a team. Chloe Glesby and Mia Penney were named tournament All-Stars, but a congrats to all the girls for their effort and sportsmanship while representing Parkland. Way to go girls, we are so proud of you all!

Attention all girl soccer players! If you are interested in playing soccer at Parkland this spring, please come to the PE office in the gym this week to sign up. Grade 9-12 of all abilities welcome! 

Attention rugby players! There is a meeting Wednesday at lunch in the Foods Room for anyone that wants to play rugby. Everyone is welcome!
