Today is the last day to order a 2022-2023 yearbook, pay through the online portal.

Literacy and Numeracy Graduation Assessments are April 25-28. Here are some links with more information regarding these assessments. Host Families Wanted for September 2023!  The Saanich International Student Program (SISP) is looking for host families for International Students joining Parkland in September, 2023.

  • Duration: students come to Saanich for a stay of 4, 5 or 10 months  
  • Provide: a private bedroom, three meals a day, healthy snacks, and inclusion in your family life 
  • Receive: a monthly honorarium of $1,150 per student for expenses incurred, and continued support from the SISP Homestay Team  
  • Create: relationships and memories that will last a lifetime!

On April 8th, 2023 Science Venture is hosting the annual, free GoCodeGirl Event to promote computer sciences to girls and gender non-conforming folks. This year, the event is EcoCode themed: participants of any coding level will explore intersections between computer sciences, environmental sciences, and sustainability! Participants will also be provided with lunch and fun swag items to take home. Register today.

RebalanceMD is hosting their 8th Annual Young Artists Competition.  The past years have been a great success and a lot of fun. Not to mention, a fantastic chance for students to showcase their talents in the community. Submissions need to be in by May 10.

Grade 11s and 12s are invited to read frequently updated scholarship information posted on the Scholarship Google classroom.

You are interested in participating in the PAC Breakfast Club, please email parkland.pac.sd63@gmail.com. Breakfast Club runs 7:40am-8:20am, selling muffins and juice to our students. Schedules will be done based on parent availability. Thank you for supporting our PAC and our students.

*** Congratulations to our Track and Field Team on their first meet yesterday. Ruby was 1st and Hector was 5th in the 3000. Ignacio was an iron man competing the in 200, 800 & 3000. Josh did well in the long jump and our relay team consisting of Hannah, Ruby, Hector and Jackson came 4th in the 4 x 100 mixed team event. Way to go Panthers!! Good luck with the rest of your season!

Panorama Rec Center has a couple summer employment opportunities that may be of interest, particularly if you are interested in tennis or other sports. They are currently recruiting and working to hire their summer team to lead and assist day camps. This summer, they have six weeks of half-day tennis camps planned, along with seven weeks of full-day multi-sport camps.  More details of each employment opportunity can be viewed via these links:

     And here are a few general details of what each program will entail:

  • Tennis Camp (8:30am-12pm M-F +prep/take down time)(7-10 year olds): Join Panorama coaches and camp leaders for a fun week of tennis and more! Aimed at racquet sport beginners, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of tennis, following the progressive tennis model that uses modified courts and balls, scaled to maximize learning and fun! Each day will include time on-court, plus a sprinkle of general camp activities such as cooperative group games, crafts and outdoor play.
    • Jul 10-14 – Centennial Park, Central Saanich
    • Jul 17-21 – Centennial Park, Central Saanich
    • Jul 24-28 – Centennial Park, Central Saanich
    • Jul 31-Aug 4 – Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich
    • Aug 14-18 – Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich
    • Aug 21-25 – Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich
  • Multi-Sport Camp (9am-4pm M-F +prep/take down time)(7-12 year olds): Throughout the week, campers will participate in a wide range of sports and activities which may include, but is not limited to, tennis, basketball, track and field, skating and swimming. Campers will follow a new activity schedule each week to allow those who attend multiple weeks, the opportunity to participate in different activities and sports. Each week, campers will partake in excursions.
