Host Families Wanted for September 2023!  The Saanich International Student Program (SISP) is looking for host families for International Students joining Parkland in September, 2023.

  • Duration: students come to Saanich for a stay of 4, 5 or 10 months  
  • Provide: a private bedroom, three meals a day, healthy snacks, and inclusion in your family life 
  • Receive: a monthly honorarium of $1,150 per student for expenses incurred, and continued support from the SISP Homestay Team  
  • Create: relationships and memories that will last a lifetime!

The Leadership class is holding an Outdoor Toy Drive March 6-17. - New or lightly used toys. ie: push cars and lawnmowers and sports equipment. All donations are going to The Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. Donation box is in the front foyer.

On April 8th, 2023 Science Venture is hosting the annual, free GoCodeGirl Event to promote computer sciences to girls and gender non-conforming folks. This year, the event is EcoCode themed: participants of any coding level will explore intersections between computer sciences, environmental sciences, and sustainability! Participants will also be provided with lunch and fun swag items to take home. Register today.

RebalanceMD is hosting their 8th Annual Young Artists Competition.  The past years have been a great success and a lot of fun. Not to mention, a fantastic chance for students to showcase their talents in the community. Submissions need to be in by May 10.

The Town of Sidney is seeking feedback on various proposals contained in their draft Active Transportation Plan including corridors supporting safe travel to schools.  DRAFT Active Transportation Plan and  Survey.

Grade 11s and 12s are invited to read frequently updated scholarship information posted on the Scholarship Google classroom.

Want to Explore Careers in Aviation?  This is the day for YOU!! Elevate Aviation is a non-profit organization providing a platform for women to thrive and succeed through aviation. This year the 7th Annual Elevate Aviation Cross Country Tour will be visiting Victoria on March 20th at the Victoria International Airport. 
Participants will spend the morning hearing from women employed in a variety of aviation careers such as airport operations, pilots, flight attendants, military personnel and aircraft mechanics. Following lunch, groups will get a behind the scenes tour of local aviation facilities including a corporate jet hangar, an FBO, a helicopter maintenance facility and the air traffic control tower. 

They are specifically inviting students between the ages of 12-18 to participate in this unique opportunity, and believe that introducing young people to the wide range of career opportunities available in aviation is an important step in increasing diversity and representation in the industry.
Location: the Victoria Flying Club, 1852 Canso Road, North Saanich, BC.

Hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with a snack and lunch break.  Cost: free of charge.
