Story Theatre presents Creator Crew, a free arts program, for youth ages 14-19. They also offer the first 8 registrants a small honorarium for food support and would be valuable to any low income students/families looking for free accessible activities. Registration form.
Mark your calendars - The Sidney Concert Band is presenting “The Magic of Christmas”, Monday Dec 18 at 7:00 in our theatre. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets at the door, $10 suggested donation. All proceeds go to SD 63 Sr Band Programs.
We have a couple different Seasonal Donation Drives: Social Justice students are collecting gently used clothing, new or gently used toys, blankets, toiletries and money for Our Place Society. Leadership students are collecting new toys and money for CFAX Santa’s Anonymous. Donation tubs are in the front office until December 20. Thank you for helping us support these worthy charities.
And our annual Peninsula Lions Food Bank Drive, Dec 4-22, Block 3 class contest. Thank you for helping us support this worthy charity.
Our PAC needs your help. The PAC would like to continue to run the breakfast club 7:45-8:25am, selling muffins and juice boxes to our students. They need parent volunteers to sign up. Thank you for supporting our students! PAC can be reached at: parkland.pac.sd63@gmail.com

ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS AND GAME ANNOUNCEMENTS
Calling all runners! There is an 8k race in January that starts and ends nearby North Saanich Middle School. The race is on Sunday January 14th at 11:30 am. It's a great way to kick off the new year! Students or teachers can sign up and join the Parkland Pant'ers team. The cost is $30. Register now. Please see Mr. Burnham if you have any questions or want more information about the race.

Career or Educational Information:
Calling all grade 11 & 12 students who identify as female and are interested in engineering and STEM, growing skills, and exploring possible careers in engineering! The Schneider Electric 2024 Project is a 3-month long project from January 22 to April 8, 2024. Students will work in a group to come up with a solution to a challenge provided by Schneider Electric. Weekly meetings will be hosted in-person at the University of Victoria (UVic) after school. The eligibility for this project is high school students in grade 11 to 12 who identify as girls. Are you looking for a career at sea? Camosun College is offering a program to get you started! The Bridge Watch Rating program can lead students to a nautical career starting as a deckhand on various marine vessels including BC Ferries, Canadian Coast Guard and many other organizations. This program is fully funded and open to women and Indigenous students and includes all related course fees and supplies. For more information and to register.
Want to get a jumpstart on a career in design? The Pacific Design Academy has Saturday courses starting in January, Fashion Design (online), Graphic Design (online) and Portfolio Preparation (in person). Pop into the Career Centre for more info!
