January 29, 2024 - Welcome to Semester 2

All students who have not returned textbooks and books from Semester 1,  MUST return them to the library BEFORE the start of Semester 2 . If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Kallechy or Mr. Mueller. 

*** Semester 2 timetables have been distributed, the last day for course changes is Wednesday.

Grade 9 immunization forms went home with the timetables and are now overdue.

Tickets for Musical Theatre production of Mean Girls (PG13) are on sale. Look at the theatre               seating to choose your seats then call the Accounts office to reserve (250-655-2736, T-F, 8-3). Adults $18 // Students $14. Saturday Matinee $14 for everyone.  There will be a small concession during intermission, cash only.  Live streaming is available for the Friday and Saturday night shows. Cost is $15 for an individual or $30 for a household. Thank you for your support!

The BGC Youth Program has cooking classes at their Central Saanich location for youths 12-16.

Our PAC needs your help. The PAC would like to continue to run the breakfast club 7:45-8:25am, selling muffins and juice boxes to our students. They need parent volunteers to sign up. Thank you for supporting our students! PAC can be reached at: parkland.pac.sd63@gmail.com

Youth Health Clinic is every Thursday night 5:30-7:30 @ Shoreline Medical Clinic.

Just a reminder that student drop off and pick-up is in the parking lot by the tennis court.

Students can pay with debit, cash or Cafeteria lunch cards are $30. You pay for the lunch cards online. Students then pick up at the office.



ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS AND GAME ANNOUNCEMENTS

*** Jr. Boys Basketball Win 1 of 3 at Mount Douglas Tournament!!! Big Game Today!!!!   The Jr. Boys basketball team played hard at the tournament and finished on a winning note!    On Thursday Carihi (Campbell River) won the first game 66-52 despite 30 points from Riley Lawson.  

On the first game on Friday, Belmont beat the Panthers 60-47.  The Panthers tied the game in the fourth quarter but Belmont made some big three point shots to pull away. Riley led the team with 19 points.   

In the final game on Saturday, the Panthers put together their best game of the season and beat E. Milne (Sooke) 63-30.  All 12 players contributed with pressure defense and few turnovers.  Riley led the team with 20 points and Gabe Tremblay had 13.  Sota Sugimoto was terrific on defense and scored his first two points of the season!  

The Panthers play today at 4:15 vs. undefeated Claremont - first place in our league pool.  The Jr. Boys invite you to stick around after school today to support the team and BE LOUD!
