***The Parkland PAC is seeking volunteers to help with the Spirit BBQ on Thursday May 18th from 10:30-2:00. Please contact us at parkland.pac.sd63@gmail.com if you can help us out even for part of the time!

The Parkland PAC will be holding its final business meeting of the year on Monday May 15th followed by our AGM. We hope parents will join us to hear what’s going on at school and what the PAC has contributed to this past school year. Monday June 12th will be our last meeting and will be a social one. 

The talent Show has been rescheduled to Tuesday, May 23, scan the QR Code on the posters to sign up.

It has been a big week for Parkland rugby! On Monday our girl's rugby team made a great showing with a big win against St Margaret's School with a score of 20-15. Way to go team!  On Tuesday our boys' team won a well-fought game against Vic High. Congrats on your victory! Thank you to the players, coaches and supporters for a great season.

Camosun College: The application deadline for current grade 12 students to qualify for conditional admission is today. Students can apply through EducationPlannerBC. The deadline for students to submit official transcripts showing interim grades through the StudentTranscripts Service is May 16th. See anyone in the career center if you have any questions!!

Starbucks Hiring Event! Broadmead Starbucks – 777 Royal Oak Drive on Tuesday, May 16th 2:00 – 6:00pm. Managers from various locations (including Sidney) will be conducting on the spot interviews.

Looking for a fun volunteer opportunity and way to give back to your community? The KELSET PAC Spring Fair is looking for people! Friday May 26, 4:00-9:00 pm; or portion of. Tasks will include set-up/take-down and running games tables. Come to the Career Centre to sign up!

The Plan A Summer Youth Employment Program provides paid work experience to students interested in a career in Carpentry. As a student, you can earn up to 16 credits towards your high school diploma and may be eligible for a $1000.00 award if requirements are met. You also receive apprentice training and opportunities for advancement and support towards the cost of tuition in moving forward with your Level 1 technical training. We consider skill, safety, quality, productivity, and attitude to be the keys to success in the industry. This program will be offered during July and August. Monday, May 15th, is the deadline for the Plan A application.  See Ms. McNamee ASAP if you are interested!!!

Starbucks in Sidney is hiring! The minimum age to work at Starbucks is 16 years old, and we just have a minimum hourly requirement of 12 hours per week (candidates must be able to provide 20 hours of availability per week). Apply online.

Jaylyn Jewellers in Sidney is looking for a skilled and reliable student to create contract calculators in Excel. The successful candidate will work closely with their team to develop accurate and efficient calculators that will be used to analyze and estimate contract costs. $25/hour!
